Oh nice i have been wanting this range called Rouenneries for awhile,and i noticed Sarah from Patchworks Plus got the range in for $15 a meter,i didnt have to think twice about ordering some FQ's as i had been saving for awhile for this range.I was so excited when it arrived last week,its so pretty that i dont want to cut it up,lol.

Peg one of the 1st things i want to make with this is the table runner out of the Fresh fabric treats book,the one you had made.I really love this runner.

I got another two kitchen hand towels made yesterday and i also did a bit more on my happy days quilt.

I just love this fabric it has jelly moulds on it,very 1950's fabric.

This one has a housewife doing many of her house hold chores cooking,vaccuming etc.

Miss Adie won a trophy

My grand-daughter Adie was so excited when i went to babysit her and her brother this week,because she had won a trophy for dancing, not just any trophy but a purple one and that is her favourite colour,lol, she was more excited about the colour,lol,i love kids they are so funny with the things they come out with.

I was asked by quite a few people what magazine did i get my OASS table mat from,the one that had the pumpkin and leaves on it,this is the book to the left,there is so many patterns that i will make from this book.

I went to my newsagents today and asked about this mag and the next one is out,it comes out every 2 months and the next one is due out the 25th of March.

I have my 3 layers all pinned together and ready for machine stitching.

i am doing straight line stitching i am hoping when i get a bit of spare time i will have a go at free motion quilting,but for now its just straight lines.

Guess what i got in the Autumn OASS

Whoo Hoo look what i had in my letterbox yesterday when i got back home from Guild,it was my Autumn OASS parcel,and man i was ever so surprised to find my blogging buddy Fiona, BubzRugz was my secret partner,i was tickled pink.Look how pretty they are wrapped in beautiful ribbon.

Oh my goodness look at all the goodies,how spoilt was i.

How lovely is this tea-towel it is made from a reclycled tablecloth and the applique design is by Angela Padilla,it is really lovely.

I also received a beautiful FQ and some lovely scissors in the shape of a girl.3 DMC threads,a cake of timeless soap,tape measure,and the cutest little pen and book covered in bling bling,i love all these gifts Fiona,thankyou so much my friend.

Wow look at this wonderful wall hanging it is gorgeous,i so love this,Fiona said i hope you like this Autumn swap ,I made especially for you,the hanger is a Natalie Bird Design,and on the front of the lovely card she sent had the words A friend is one of the nicest things you can have,and one of the best things you can be.How lovely is that,i am so blessed with my blogging friends.Thankyou so much Fiona for being my swap partner and a huge thankyou to our swap muma Cheryll for hosting yet again another fabulous swap.cheers shez

I have been busy making candlemats at the moment,these patterns are called little stitches by bareroots,and i really enjoy making these.

This one is called Bunnies candlemat.

There are so many designs by Barri Sue Gaudet in the candlemats,all very cute.

I am teaming up with Narelle and her elves for one xmas item a month,thankyou Narelle,love getting some xmas sewing done.

I used tiny glittery beads for the snow flakes,lol,i have way to much fun stitching and sewing.Cheers shez

What fun this swap has been coming up with Autumn themed projects to make,the person i had to send to,it was Deb from frog cottage. and i was her secret stalker,lol. Parcels are wrapped all ready to go.

I made Deb this awesome table topper from a Fons & Porter's mag called Quilting celebrations. This mat was called Autumn leaves and i enjoyed making it so much that i am going to make one for myself.I sent this parcel wednesday afternoon and Deb had it by Friday i cant believe how fast it got there.Deb said she really likes it so that made me happy that i had made it for her.

There is so many projects that i want to make in this magazine that at $18.50 it was a bargain,i will be keeping my eye out for these magazines as they come out,there is some lovely xmas projects in this one that i want to make.

I also sent a kitchen towel topper and 2 reels of fancy ribbon and a mini card pack,some applique paper and of course some cadbury chocolate.Thankyou so much Cheryll for hosting yet again another wonderful swap,now i am stalking the postie for my swap to come,lol.

What a busy 2 days

Friday i made 8 jars of semi dried tomatoes,its the 1st time i have tried to make them,in some of the jars i put slivers of home grown garlic.
The tomatoes are home grown as well and i also sprinkled some dried basil over the tomatoes and then dried them in my food hydrator,very simple oh so tasty they are full of flavour i will be doing this again.

I needed to get a parcel together for hubby's niece who had a baby girl on the 15/02/2012,they named her Honor Lily.

So i had a look in the present cupboard and found this cute dolphin that i had made awhile ago,i found the pattern in Homespun vol 10.12 and was designed by Mel and Rosalie of Melly & me.

I also wanted to put something else in the parcel so i came across this idea for face washers on a blog i cant remember which one and you have a piece of cotton fabric 10" x 10" ( i did 12" x 12") as i thought that was a better size and do the same with a piece of minky which is so soft and right sides together stitch them together and leave an opening so you can turn it inside out,then stitch around and i also stitched from end to end across the fabric and through the middle both ways so the fabrics are sewn together and there is no slack,so now i have 2 very soft and cute face washers to send for the baby as well.

DD2 wanted 2 bar stool cushions made for their bar stool as it had a cacky yellow cover on it,the kiddies get it pretty dirty so thats why i did 2.

Then i thought i had better make my little grandson and grand-daughter some face washers as well,so i did them five.

This minky is so soft so i can imagine that they will be so lovely to use.
Now if you have a look at Fee's blog she has made cleaning cloths out of tee shirt fabric.
Think i will have a rest today,lol.

So, a little bit of history....

Kathy landed in Sewing Blogland almost a year ago and, though at first it seemed full of foreign language and strange customs (linky parties, WIPs, Swaps, Wordpress, UFOs...), it didn't take long to feel right at home.

And that was entirely due to the friendliness and generosity of the community :)

Not a day goes by when I don't come across an example of the friendliness of sewing bloggers: a caring word, encouragement, an unexpected gift, praise, advice or even a bit of cheek!

Not long ago I was searching through my stash of magazines (it seems to grow much like my fabric stash) and I was struck by how many projects featured the theme of friends.......

What a perfect idea for a swap, I thought!

So, after letting the idea tumble and turn in my head for a while, I came up with

Friends with Benefits!

And this is how it will work:-

Participants in this swap will be allocated a secret partner for whom they will make a friends or friendship themed gift.

Gift Guidelines

>Nothing huge!

>It must have a friendship theme: perhaps a friendship star, a lovely phrase/saying/verse,
a heart....

>It should be a sewn item such as be patchwork, appliqué, stitching/embroidery, quilting

Some suggestions are - a mug rug, a pin cushion, needle case, cushion cover, a dilly bag, a wall hanging, a small purse, a pencil case, a book cover, a handkerchief....I'm sure there are many more ideas out there :)

Yipee another SKOW block done

Happy Day's quilt the borders are on

I have been playing with my happy day's quilt today,the piture to the left i have joined the 3 rows together.

To the right a closup picture,i am really glad i came back to finish this UFO as i am really enjoying seeing how it is all coming together.

Ta Da i did the 1st border in the black and white polka dots and then the 2nd border in "Forget Me Not" by Kimberly Poloson for Robert Kaufman,its such a pretty fabric,it makes me think of Paris,lol,not that i have been there,lol.
I am really liking the look of it now.

Another closeup the next stage will be to embellish it,what fun i will have with buttons,feathers,diamontes and lace.Cheers shez.

FNSI this is what i made

I started to put my blocks together as i had finished the blanket stitching awhile ago,so time to tackle another UFO for FNSI.This pattern is called happy days by mum's moment.

L now have 2 rows with sashings done,one more
row to go,then i can embellish the dresses,hats,
and bags with lace,buttons and ribbons.

now inside

I had a little win just before xmas

I had a win over at Bits and Pieces just before xmas and Terry said she would send my 2 xmas ornaments that were made with the go machine after xmas so it didnt get lost in the xmas postage rush.
Terry is at the moment busy renovating and she had had the package ready to send and forgot in all the renovating rush and it got pushed to the side.
When Terry had realised what had happen she let me know what was happening and i received my parcel yesterday all the way from the USA.
whow Terry had put in extra stuff to makeup for not sending it earlier and she said i hope it was worth the wait,boy was i spoilt.
This is what i found in the parcel.

These are the 2 ornaments that i won if you click here this post will show you how to make them,they are absolutely stunning and the fabric is so pretty.

Terry has also put in this very pretty fq and also this very lovely and funky purse or wallet in gorgeous fabric.

The wallet or purse has a couple of compartments in it,oh this is going to get some use,lol. thankyou so very much Terry for all my treasures.

My Initial Heart has arrived

This was the initial heart swap and our lovely hostess was Cheryll from http://stitchingcubbyhole.blogspot.com.au/
Lots of lovely packages there,now which to open 1st,lol.

Whow look at my heart,its so pretty and has a big S in the middle and is surrounded by paper flowers.

Next one i opened had this little bird in it,love the pink feathers.

And there was also a kit to make a burlap bow and 4 lindt choccies,yummy,thankyou so much Carol and a big thankyou to Cheryll for hostessing this lovely fun swap.

UFO finally finished

You might remember me making this journal awhile back,guess what it went back into the UFO pile.

Well i have finally finished it,yipee another project that is no longer a UFO.
This is it opened up and on the right hand side is a pocket as well,it will make a great small progect folder as i have little plastic sleeves that will hold things in them.

This pattern is by my friend Ann Francene Dimmer and was in Decorative Patchwork Vol no 1 and is called Spring Garden Journal.
Thankyou Ann as it is such a lovely project to do.

I sent a Tilda heart in the Initial Heart Swap

I have wanted to make this Tilda heart for awhile so this was a great opportunity to make one.

So of course the initial that i had to do was K,i was pleased with how it turned out and Kaye has emailed me to say she loves it and it is hanging from her tallboy,whew it is always a relief to find out your partner likes what she got.

So this is what was in the parcels,a Tilda heart,aida cloth for doing embroidery as Kaye does alot of beautiful stitcheries,and 3 silky DMC threads and 2 pkts of Ferrero Rocher choccies.

Central Park Journel cover finished

I have finally finished my central park journal cover,the pattern was by Janelle Wind.
I altered it a bit to fit a A5 folder instead of a book.

I also decided not to bind it,i am pleased with how it turned out.

This is the folder opened,its a great way of snazzing up the look of a folder.

Bits of everything

Here is a sneak peek of one of my swap projects which i hope to get finished today,i so enjoy being part of these swaps.

My stack and whack quilt is now finished and this is where it will live drapped over the loungeroom couch.

My sister-in-law Sinnie and her lovely hubby Chris celebrated 50years of marriage,what a lovely milestone and they are so happy.
We all got together for a surprise lunch for them yesterday ,and we all had a great time catching up.

This is Steven their oldest son making a speech and beside him is his oldest daughter Renee.
Gee what a busy but fun weekend it was.

Riley's 1st game of Basketball

My grandson Riley had his 1st game of basketball yesterday morning,so i missed the 1st hr or so from Embroidery guild and went to watch him play.
Look how tall he is he is 6 and the other boys are older as he is playing in under 10's .

This is the little guy in action,boy he had fun,he was born to play basketball,go Riley.

He is having a spell here with his mum,DD1 who was coaching for the match as SIL is the coach of 2 teams and they were both playing at the same time,so he missed seeing his boy play his 1st match.
We have a busy day today with SIL & BIL celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary so we are all going out for lunch and then we are off to DD1 place for tea,goody no cooking today other than making a GF cheesecake to take to DD1 place.

Quilted & Binding on

I got the straight line quilting done and the binding on yesterday,Madie help me pick the fabric for the binding we went for the polka dot fabric.
I also got finished a swap item yesterday as well,so i had a good sewing day.

I am pleased with its progress and i am glad i have only the binding to stitch down now,it needs to be finished for our embroidery guild's exibition at St Pat's in Ballarat for March.

Need to finish some UFO's

I had sandwiched this quilt together and got it all pinned and that is as far as i got,so its about time i got it finished.
I am doing very basic quilting on it as i have not learnt free motion quilting yet,but maybe sometime this year i might have a go,lol,it scares me a bit so i keep putting it off.

Wednesday babysitting

Wednesday i babysat the 2 little ones in Teesdale and i also had to bring my DD 1's 3 children as well,so all up i was watching 5 grand-children.
It was a very hot day so i bought a tub of vanilla ice-cream for them,and boy was Dempsey enjoying it,lol,i think there was more on his face than in the bowl,lol.

Here are the 3 girls enjoying a bowl of ice-cream as well.

The 2 grandsons getting comfortable as we all watch toy story 3.

Then they all decided to get dressed up,they were so funny and it kept them amused for ages.

Not quite sure what they were dressed up as but they giggled non stop..
I have so much fun with the grandies,i think i have more fun than them,lol.

Grand-daughter's birthday

I forgot to post pics from Madies 11th birthday which was earlier this month.
I took her out for the day and we shopped then we went out for lunch then shopped again and then had afternoon tea.
It was a lovely day and was finished off we Madie telling me how much she loves me,that tugged at the old heart strings,lol.
Here she has opened her birthday card from her great grand-mother who she calls great and great made this card especially for Madie with a pic of Madie riding the ride on lawn mower,which Madie was quite amused how great had made it.

Here is Madie with the tilda doll that i made for her,she really liked her and has called her Daisy.

Here we are at a little cafe come gift shop called such'n'such.
Madie had ordered a homemade sausage roll with homemade relish and a feta salad,lol,dear meal as she only ate the sausage roll,lol. Then after some grocery shopping we had afternoon tea which Madie got a choclate mud cup cake and a hot chocolate with marshmallows.

Here i am dropping Madie off home after a wonderful day together.

Sneak Peek and Family

After xmas i took mum down to my yougest sister's home in Portarlington for 3 weeks and my other sister Sandra came down for a few days in the 2nd week.We had lots of fun we played lots of yatzee on the WII and also zumba,but believe me you dont want to see those pics,lol.we swam down at the beach and we went shopping,nice family bonding time.
Left is my baby sister Janeen,,Sandra and myself.

Grandson's 2nd birthday

Little Dempsey goes 2 today but we had his birthday party yesterday.
He finally has finally got the hang of opening the presents.This is him with his other nana.

Look how cute i am in my birthday hat ,lol,though he wasnt quite sure what was going on.

Dempsey is train and car mad.
You should've seen his face when his train birhtday cake came out,lol,he was so excited.

He did it with one huff he blew the candles out.
It was a great family day with people from both sides and it was lovely to catchup with everyone.

My visit with O'Faigh

I was lucky enough just over a week ago to have met my blogging friend O'Faigh at her home,she is such a lovely lady and made me feel very welcome in her home and i was spoilt as she had especially made me some bikkies which were very yummy.

O'Faigh let me take pics of some of her beautiful projects,would you believe the quilt above was her 1st quilt,and oh my it was so beautiful.
To the right is 2 wallhangings and the one farthest right was a design by my friend Anne Fracenne Dimmer,and what lovely stitching.

Love this banner which you see as you come in the front door,very pretty.

Another stitchery in a frame,very rustic looking.

Love this display corner,it was wonderful,quite like going to a mini exibition,wish i had taken pics of the quilts in O'Faigh's bedroom they were stunning as well.

I finished my lady stitchery which is a Brenda Ryan design,which will be the centre of a cushion.

This is a closeup of the pretty design.

On the far left is a pattern of the cushion that i am going to make and on the right i have started the scallops for around the stitchery design,i only have about 7 to go now out of 22 so nearly there,but i need to get some sleep now,lol,hope everyone else had a productive night.

How cute are these Anni Downs Patterns

I had bought a couple of Anni Downs patterns for these little pre printed stitcheries and i decided to make them into these little bags which Anni had the directions for in the pattern.

This was the next little stitchery,i really like the pink and grey spot in this one,these little stitcheries are fun and quick to do and you could make them into wall hangings as well or use them for anything really.

I am heading back to Teesdale to babysit this afternoon and tomorrow morning and then i am off to meet O'Faigh for a cuppa and a chat and show and tell,then off to Portarlington for another week and a half.

Projects i have been working on

While away at the beach i started Central Park by Janelle Wind,which is a journel cover and a scarf.

I got the journel cover stitchery finished and am not far off finishing the scarf panel.

I also got finished the 1st block of Anni Downs quilt in her SKOW book.
My oldest GD's birthday today,so i am taking her and her brother and sister to see chipmunks and then drop the other 2 back home and then Madie and i are going out for lunch and then a spot of shopping.

Kitchen hand towels for me

I finally got some time to make me some kitchen hand towels for my kitchen.
While in Portarlington i got my sewing machine serviced at the Blanket box in one of Geelong's suburbs and i wanted to see how my machine was running.
Well it is like a new machine humming along,i should have had it serviced months ago,now i am so glad that i did,thankyou O'Faigh for recommending John to service my machine.

It's funny isn't, l threw the idea at you late last week. There was a lot of interest, many of the girls took part in the last swap. I knew what l was talking about, they knew what l was talking about but l have realised after an email l received today, many of you have no idea what l am rabbiting on about. Let me explain what the Christmas Angel Swap is.
At the end of next week l will send out an email to those who have signed up to be Christmas Angels. The email will have an easy to fill in questionnaire. I want to find out what your favourite types of fabrics are, what your Christmas colours are etc.
Once l get your responses l will pair up the Christmas Angels. I will forward the your questionnaire to your partner. They will have some idea of your colours and will be able to make your gives to suit you.
Then l will give you a list of things 10 things. Most you will make but some you might raid your stash for. You may need to purchase something small. The aim is that you make or collect something, one for each month so that you can pace yourself.
On Decmebr 1st you will pop your goodies in the mail and post them off to your partner. We'll decide on the day that you will open them. And then if l ask nicely you might send me a pic of what you received.
Last swap the partners had each others email addresses and wrote to each other during the year. Some girls added some extra treats, but this entirely up to you.
I have signed up this sounds like a lot of fun.

This is what my girlfriend Jen gave me for xmas.
The black Audrey Hepburn bag Jen had made for me,it is stunning and so big i can fit heaps into it,she also stitched a row of black roses along the top of the bag,you get the fabric in spotlight furnishing department and you get 3 of the same pics in the one panel,there is Grace Kelly,Marilyn Munroe and i cant remember the others.
The bag is fully lined with a zippered pocket,its so gorgeous.
She also popped into my parcel a antique wooden xmas decoration an owl nail file and 3 wooden xmas words which i really love,thankyou Jen for my lovely gifts,gee i was so spoilt this xmas and hee hee i loved it,lol.

Blocks for SKOW

I am taking mum away with me for 3 weeks and we are going to my sister's at Portarlington ( by the beach) so i am busy getting projects ready to take with me,these blocks are from Anni's book some kind of wonderful and i have them ready for needle turning.
While i am at the beach there is a patchwork shop that has a guy that fixes sewing machines,so i will take mine in for a service while i am there.

Squilter's xmas swap 2011

I was in the squilters xmas swap as well,which was the 1st xmas swap i had joined up in and my lovely partner was Ann-maree .
All my parcels arrived in this very cute santa cushion that is at the back.

Ann-maree had all the parcels wrapped in fabric which is the pile at the front of the picture.
Thankyou Ann-maree for all my lovely gifts there were so many beautiful things.

Look at this stunning lily shaped pen and the cutest pieced blue wren design by Margaret Rolfe,so beautifully sewn.

There was also the cutest dragonfly brooch and a moda pedal pushers kit which has a charm pack and DVD for making a small quilt.

A pair of owls checing everything out and i got lots more wonderful goodies as well,thankyou very much Ann-maree for being my partner and a big thankyou to Shaaryn as well for hosting this swap.
My Uncles funeral is today and looks like a lovely summer day to bid him good-bye.

Oh i am so excited look what i unwrapped this morning from Fee in Fee's advent swap the most beautiful bag with the words shabby,oh wait i feel something inside,oh boy i am nearly busting with excitement.

OMG i dont believe it i got a charm pack of countdown to xmas and 4 very pretty fat 1/8 ths,oh my there is more.

There was also abeautiful notebook that Fee has scrapbooked on the front and a cleveodore wooden santa and some xmas buttons and ribbons,oh my i am starting to swoon,deep breath Shez.

Blanket of Love

Our CWA has asked us to do a blanket of love to hand in the 1st week of feb for there annual AGM.
My machine is going in to be serviced in January so i thought i had better get it made now.

I went through all my embroidery designs and came up with the tiger as i had some left over fabric with zoo animals all over it,i am quite pleased with how it came up and hopefully it will be of some comfort for a family experiencing a loss.

It was the last FNSI last night and i would like to thank Heidi and Bobbi for holding these sit and sews.
Well yesterday and last night i started on a tilda doll for my oldest grand-daughter as it is her birthday early January.

I was very pleased with how she turned out and i just love love those flower sandels on her feet.

I quite enjoyed making her as i dont usually do dolls and she was quite simple,just needed a bit of time to do the hair,so thankyou Heidi for another sucessful FNSI.

Cheryll's Santa swap

Yipee we got to open our santa sack parcels yesterday.

I was very lucky and had the talented Jeanette from Jeanette's place as my partner and boy did she spoil me rotten,look at all these goodies.

All these goodies are sitting on a black and white table runner that Jeanette made for me and she did her homework as i love polka dots and this will look fantastic on my kitchen bench.

These are two gorgeous canvas wall hangings that she has made for me,they are stunning.

Damn blogger is playing games with the pics again.

Below there are two thread catchers an adorable scented bag that hangs on your coathanger,the sweetest little cupcake,pins,polka dot and stripe bisconi pin cushion,and 2 f/q of polka dot fabric.

I also received a lovely pattern for a tea-pot wallhanging and Jeanette has also popped the lovely heart buttons in and also a lovely embroidered journal cover with a book inside,and also the cutest little noebook in aqua.

Oh my i got 4 beautiful shades in cottage garden threads,thankyou so much Jeanette for being my wonderful partner in Cheryll's santa sack swap.Also a big thankyou to Chez for being the perfect hostess and in over seeing a smooth swap for everyone.

Another xmas lunch & Day 13 of the Advent swap

Mum and i had another xmas lunch with friends yesterday.
We went to Seymours on Lydiard for our meal.
On the left is mum,me and Chrissie,Chris you look fantastic.

Two more wonderful friends Kerry ( Cookie ) and Jen,looks like Jen is wearing a hat but its just the flower arrangements behind her.

I ordered a pototo and pesto pizza with sour cream and sweet chilli sauce,yummy it was beautiful and there was no way i could order sweets,i was full to the brim,i would thoroughly reccomend this place if you are ever in Ballarat.

Family day & Advent day 12

I have now had my hair cut short and i am so pleased with it,thankyou Maddie my hairdresser she is the best.
I also love this blue scarf that Chez bought me,its such a pretty colour,thankyou Cheryll.http://stitchingcubbyhole.blogspot.com/

We had our family get together for xmas yesterday and kris kringle.
We went to a lovely chinese resturant for lunch,so yummy i had honeyed chicken with combination fried rice,the best i have ever had.
This is my sister Sandra,me,sister Janeen and mum.

Then we went to a little cafe out in the suburbs for a coffee.

It was a lovely cafe that has gone back in time to the 50's and was called Kroozin Cafe.

I am sitting at one of the little tables with one of their decorations a pink flamingo.

Look at that lampshade and their were old posters stuck all over the walls.

Above on the left is my dad and he is sitting in one of the comfy arm chairs.And to the right is my brother Bill looking very happy.
This pic to the right i found these little salt and pepper shakers on the tables in the shape of coke bottles,how cute are they,we all had a wonderful day catching up.

FNSI & Advent day 10

For Friday night sew in i made 2 kitchen towel hangers,in xmas prints.So thankyou Heidi http://handmadebyheidi.blogspot.com/ for these productive fun nights,sitting and sewing with like minded women around the world.
I cant get emails at the moment so bear with me,i am in a telstra queue at the moment,i havent been able to access,have just found out mantience is being done on the lines so hopefully it will be back soon.

I made these 2 tilda baubles to send to my hubby's neice and her hubby in Perth,love the red and white.

Made another 2 for i dont know yet,lol

I also made another 2 tilda birds i each for my youngest 2 grandies,Adie had to have one like Fees,i had made Fee 2 of these with the pink breast cancer ribbon patterned fabric and Adie wanted one the same,lol so now she will be happy and of course i had to make one for Dempsey as well,so that is my FNSI results.

My day 9 of Fee's advent swap parcel was the cutest ever little jelly beans,so tiny.
Thankyou Fee how did you know i have a sweet tooth,lol.

I finally finished the last laundry bag,that was a big project six bags,so glad i am finished.

Blogger's playing games again,grrr,These are the 6 bags all ironed and ready to go into there cellophane bags and then xmas paper.This was a Natalie Ross pattern called My little laundry helper.

Day 8 in Fee's advent swap ,in this parcel i opened i have a cute magnetic xmas shopping list that sticks to the fridge,thankyou Fee it will come in very handy .

I got the most amazing xmas bag,isnt it cute,i love it,and boy look at all the goodies it was hiding.

Oh my look at my diary, the cover is especially made for me,and a scissor fob made for me as well with the letter S.

And there is also a beautiful craved pattern wood biro.

Those earrings are absolutely beautiful and this scarf is stunning and so pretty,i am going out for a xmas tea tonight so i will be wearing both these.

This is what was in my parcel for day 7 of Fee's advent swap,A mothers Cupboard pattern for a bingo bag and some madeira verigrated thread,thankyou Fee for my parcel today,mum guess who is getting a new bag?

I wonder where these Tilda xmas baubles will end up?
Maybe at your place?
I love how these hang on the xmas tree.

I might try making some shabby chic ones with lace on them,maybe a project for next year.

Advent day 6

I am enjoying it so much having a present to open each day till xmas.
Today is day 6 and this is what i got from Fee in Fee's advent swap.
A fat 1/8 of the prettist fabric and a tape measure in a cute tin,thankyou Fee for my gifts today.

Hubby has started to work on the front garden and has put in lots of topairy roses,we dont have good soil here so he has had a lot of work just getting the beds ready.
Its starting to take shape and will be quite pretty when he is finished,i am afraid i am not much help as i am always in the sewing room,lol,
But i will dehead the dead flowers some time this week.

How sweet is this advent gift from Fee in Fee's advent swap and the fat quarter is so cute with little sunbonnet girls on it.

How spoilt am i,these are my 5 days of gifts in the advent swap so far.
lol,i am having way to much fun in this swap,loving having to open a parcel each,thankyou Fee for being my partner and spoiling me rotten.

Kris Kringle and advent gifts

Today we had our embroidery guild's xmas lunch and annual AGM.
We have a santa and we do kris kringle,i had to take a picture of this gift, is was just stunning it is a needlecase,and the embroidered little bird was so cute,lucky Thelma got this.

I am not sure who got this off santa but i really liked it ( i wonder if they would notice if it went missing ).
There is pockets on the side of the chook for your needles and bits and pieces and he is also a pin cushion.

Now for my 3rd day of Fee's advent swap i got in my parcel a 2 year diary and some pretty DMC verigated thread,Fee's advent swap is so much fun,thankyou Fee.http://www.designsbyfee.com/

I have got another laundry bag finished 1 down now 2 to go,i had better get a move on,there is a lot of work in these,but i am sure the kids will love them.

How lucky am i this is my 1st advent swap parcel from Fee
40 Moda city weekend squares,lovely patterns,i will have some fun with these Fee,thankyou so looking forward to tomorrows parcel,boy this swap is a lot of fun.

I also picked my new Tilda book up at the post office on my way back from Teesdale,its called Tilda's Winter ideas.

It is full of lovely projects,this is the winter bunny.

SSCS swap

Whow look at this xmas tree decoration,it is stunning.
Thankyou so very much Christin from Switzland who is my secret santa for chookyblue's SSCS. Now the idea is to open one parcel that has your xmas decoration in and you open your main one on xmas day,i am so spoilt as i have 3 to open on xmas day,yipee.
Christin your stitching is beautiful and i love this decoration its beautiful and will be treasured.
Blogger is playing games with me again i am having trouble with the pics staying put,lol.
below left is the back of my xmas decoration,so pretty and to the right i hang it on my twig tree with Peta's cute birdies.

Am i spoilt or what as i also received a tin of aniseed biscuits in a ginger bread tin,so cute i love the tin.

Also tied on 1 of the parcels was this lovely machined snowflake motif,just stunning.

Isn't this just the cutest xmas card from Christin,its 3D.

Oh 3 lovely parcels i picked up from the post office today

This one came all the way over from Christin in Switzland for
Chookyblues SSCS 2011,4 lovely parcels,a tin of aniseed bikkies which are very yummy and a pretty xmas card,we can open 1 which is a xmas ordament but i am not sure which one to open.

Whow look at all these lovely gifts from Fee in Tassie for Fee's advent swap,how lucky was i to get Fee.
Cant wait till Thursday to open the 1st one.

Grandie and vegie garden pictures

We have the grand-children over for a few days while their mum and dad are attending a wedding in the Clare Valley,Friends had the kiddies yesterday and we picked them up at lunch time today as we had an engagement in melb,so it has been a busy few days.The kiddies are having fun on the ride on mower and the last 2 pics are of hubby's vegie garden.

Whow my Candlemat arrived

My parcel from Pat arrived today we were partners in Cheryll's candlemat exchange.

And whow look at this beauty,sorry Pat i should've ironed it first.
It is stunning with 5 beautifully embroidered birds in a circle of holly and berries,how pretty is this,its awesome Pat!!!!!

And this is the back view with pretty star fabric,i could use this side as well.

Also in this wonderful parcel was a santa dish filled with pepermint dove choc,yummy,you did your homework Pat as i love peppermint chocolate.

This is the pretty dish minus the chocolate and no mum i havent eaten all the choc yet only a couple,lol.

This is my wonderful parcel altogether ,and have i been spoilt or what.

OASS Summer swap with a xmas tuckin

This is the parcel i sent off to Ofaigh who was my partner in Cheryll's OASS summer swap with a xmas tuckin.

This was my xmas tuckin it is a xmas table runner
which was designed by the clever Jenny of Elefantz
it was in the lastest handmade xmas issue.

I asked ofaigh what she would like and she said a table runner,now the tiles in her dining room were terracotta and the bench tops black and cupboards cream and silvery blue blinds and her favourite colour was blue,so i hope i have made it to match in with her room.

now this is the 1st time i have done a disappearing 9 patch,my buddy Chez explained and did a tutorial on on making one,so hope i did it right Chez

I also popped in a wristlet bag,made of of moda Maison de Garance
Sorry blogger is playing around with the pictures and wont let me write where i want,lol.
The other pic is of all the goodies i had also included some adia cloth and a xmas fabric bon bon full of lollies.

Candlemat exchange

This is what i sent my candle mat exchange partner Pat in Cheryll's candlemat exchange.
My lovely partner was Pat from http://clubquiltnarromine.blogspot.com/

We had to send a candlemat at least 16"x16" and something edible.
I found this lovely pattern on the internet and so enjoyed making it that i want to make 1 for myself,lol not for this year though,lol,too many other things to make first,lol.

Then i found this cute round mirror glass that you sit your candle on and i also found this cute red glass candle holder.

Then for the edible part i thought the candy canes go so well with this parcel.
So i hope you liked your parcel Pat and thankyou for being my candlemat exchange partner.

So Pretty

At Peta's suggestion I found some twigs and put them in a vase and hang the birdies that she sent me in the Tilda xmas swap on them.
I had debated about spraying the twigs white or silver or gold,but both Hubby and i liked the natural look,and they look good on the table runner that Karen sent in the sew geek table runner/wallhanging swap.

A close up of them,now my youngest grand-daughter wants some birds and sticks she told me to put in her bedroom,lol.I had better get busy,lol.

Hooray the applique is on the 3rd one now.I will try to get them stitched on the machine this week sometime,i will try but i have an extremely busy week and weekend.We have an engagement party in melbourne over the weekend plus we have DD 1's 3 children from friday to monday as they have a wedding in the Clare valley SA to go to,so busy ,busy,lol its the only way to be,lol.

I spent 1/2 of yesterday putting the applique on the grand-daughters laundry bags,i got 2 done and i hope to get the 3rd one done today,then to stitch them on is the next big chore,lol.

I love the fabrics and colours i have chosen,nice and bright and fresh,they were bought at spotlight.
The saying on them is ,fesh as a daisy,not!
I think they are very cute,its a shame dirty laundry is going in them,lol.

I started on the last 3 laundry bags for the grand-daughters,this is the front of them now i am cutting the visfex out ready to iron on for applique.

This is the back of them,such pretty girly fabrics and colours.

Lots of applique pieces to iron on,lol,also lots to cut out,each step is a step closer to finishing.

Yesterday i sent off 3 parcels,this lot of gifts is going to Tassie to my advent swap partner Fee.

This parcel is going off to NSW to Pat in Cheryll's
candle mat exchange.
And my 3rd parcel i have no pics,then i realised i have no pics of any of my other xmas swaps as they were in the other computer tower,my brother has tried to retrieve them but no luck,so later on i will send it to the computer people.
I am just so pleased to be back on line,now i am just trying to catch up with the emails and then my blog.

OH NO,NO INTERNET AGAIN

Hi everyone, so sorry i have no internet at the moment,i am waiting for a new modem.
Went to telstra shop to get a new one and they told me it was a 2 month wait,i nearly cried,so rang my brother up and he spoke to some-one he knew in telstra and he said thats not right so what i have done to speed things up was go on a new plan and i will have a new modem in 10 days,well thats better than 2 months and he said he will try to get it to me faster.
So i am at mum's at the moment getting my blogging fix,so i will catch up with everyone as soon as i get my modem.

This is the journel cover opened up,look at all the work that has gone into this,very clever Karen.

And lucky me there was more tuckins,a pretty card and some fabric strips.

And this is the main gift my very pretty table runner,so much work has gone into this.
